Information about Video Surveillance
To protect our guests, employees and our property, Hotel Morgenroth uses a video surveillance system in selected areas of the hotel. Processing is carried out in compliance with the applicable data protection regulations.
Below, we inform you in accordance with Art. 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) about the processing of personal data in connection with video surveillance.

2. Purpose of Video Surveillance
The video surveillance serves in particular:

the safety of our guests, visitors and employees

the protection of health in the event of possible accidents or emergencies, especially in areas such as wellness, restaurant and lobby bar

the protection of the property of the hotel as well as the property of our guests
-
the prevention and detection of criminal offences
-
ensuring a safe and orderly hotel operation
Video surveillance is only carried out in areas where this is necessary for security reasons.
3. Legal Basis of Processing
The processing of personal data is based on:

Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest)

§ 4 German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) – Video surveillance of publicly accessible areas
The legitimate interest of the hotel lies in particular in the protection of persons, ensuring security in the hotel and protection against theft and property damage.
4. Monitored Areas
Video surveillance is carried out exclusively in publicly accessible or operational areas of the hotel, in particular:

Entrance areas of the hotel

Reception and lobby

Hotel corridors

Restaurant and lobby bar

Entrances to wellness and fitness areas

selected areas of the wellness area exclusively for security reasons

Parking lot and outdoor areas
No video surveillance is carried out in areas with special protection of privacy, in particular:

Hotel rooms

Sanitary facilities

Changing rooms

Showers
-
Saunas and relaxation areas
5. Storage Period
Video recordings are generally stored for a maximum of 72 hours and then automatically deleted, unless they are required to investigate a specific security incident or accident.
6. Access to the Recordings
Only authorized persons have access to the video recordings:

The data will only be passed on to third parties if this is required by law or at the request of the responsible authorities (e.g. police).
7. Sound Recording
The hotel’s video surveillance system does not record sound.
8. Rights of Data Subjects
